Nederlands: Bioscoopjournaals waarin Nederlandse onderwerpen van een bepaalde week worden gepresenteerd.; Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog sloot de Leidse universiteit de deuren. Hierdoor ontstond oa achterstand op het gebied van wetenschappelijke literatuur. Nu, in 1950, ontvangt de Universiteit wetenschappelijke boeken uit Amerika. SHOTS: - Bibliotheekmedewerkers pakken boeken uit; - in de Senaatszaal draagt Amerikaan de boeken over;rector-magnificus B.A. van Groningen accepteert ze met een kort dankwoord; - Van Groningen en andere heren snuffelen door de stapels boeken.  
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.; During World War II the University leiden closed its doors. This caused a.o. a considerable arrears on scientific literature. Now, in 1950, the university receives scientific books by from America. SHOTS: - Library employees unpack the books; - in the senates room an American hands over the books; rector B.A. van Groningen accepts the books and gives a short word of thanks; - Van Groningen and other men rummage through the stacks of books.
