English: This video shows how ground reaction forces (blue arrwows and blue line graphs), petiole trajectories (red lines) and stepping patterns (yellow lines) of an ant of the Formica rufa species group change over time in three sample runs on a 30° upslope. The (temporal) stepping pattern shows six lines, which illustrate the ground contanct durations of the left front, left middle and left hind leg as well as the right front, right middle and right hind leg (up to down). The videos were recorded with 500 frames per second (playback rate: 10 frames per second). |
