English: South Africa’s Dr Adriana Marais presents ‘The Allure of the Unknown’ at Scifest Africa 2019. Dr Marais is a Mars One candidate who aims to be one of the first human beings on the Red Planet.
Dr Marais walks us through her journey, from her first day at school, to joining the Mars One programme and what she hopes to achieve during her research expedition to Antarctica in 2020. Proudly South African, Dr Marais envisions a better humanity for all. Dr Marais is a theoretical physicist specialising in the field of quantum biology and is currently Head of Innovation at SAP Africa.
