English: This map identifies some of the galaxies which are seen in the deep NTT picture, described in ESO Press Release eso9105. The computer-drawn ellipses reflect their sizes and shapes. Note that the identifying numbers are located to the right of the objects they refer to.
The following sequence of measured V -magnitudes illustrates the extraordinary depth of this picture: V = 20.3 (galaxy no. 72), 21.1 (73), 21.5 (64),23.0 (62), 23.4 (SO), 24.9 (ll4), 26.3 (5S), 26.S (92), 27.5 (105), 27.7 (llO), 2S.0 (13), 2S.4 (10), 2S.4 (14), 29.0 (70), 29.1 (45).
This drawing accompanies ESO Press Release eso9105 and may be reproduced, if credit is given to the European Southern Observatory.
