Description

The Naval Postgraduate School's Middle Ultraviolet Spectrograph (MUSTANG) was designed to measure the spectrum of the Earth's airglow from 1800 A to 3400 A. The MUSTANG instrument was tested using standard techniques to determine the wavelength calibration, overall sensitivity, and detector linearity. The instrument was launched on a NASA sounding rocket on March 19, 1992, from White Sands Missile Range N.M. Post-flight tests indicate that the calibration did not change as a result of the rocket experiment.
