Denominación: Comunicación de Comisión Provisoria de vecinos de Barrio Sarmiento respecto a creación de un Centro Cívico en apoyo a Perón como candidato a presidente.


Fecha: Noviembre 1945

Contexto: La campaña para las elecciones de febrero de 1946 comenzó en los últimos meses del año anterior, teniendo como principales candidatos a Perón, hasta el momento ex ministro y ex vicepresidente del Gobierno de-facto frente a la fórmula de la Unión Democrática, agrupación de partidos -UCR, PDP, PS y PC- al estilo de los frentes europeos.

La campaña estuvo marcada por un discurso pro-democrático y anti fascista-nazi, rasgo de lo que se acusaba a Perón. Frente a esto y por el apoyo de la diplomacia estadounidense a la UD se movilizó el sentimiento nacionalista visible en la frase “Braden o Perón” y se remarcó la labor de Perón como defensor de los trabajadores.
