Summary[edit]

Description
English: British troops breach gothic line.
It was announced on September 2nd that as a result of the swift and secret advance of British troops of the 8th Army launched of August 26th, the Gothic Line had been breached in the Adriatic sector of the Italian front to a depth of several miles. The defences of the line, last enemy prepared position south of the river Po, had not been competed when the Germans were forced to withdraw. Heavy fighting continues, but the breach is being enlarged each day.
