Description
Deutsch: Am Morgen des 23. Dezember 2007, also kurz vor Heiligabend - ist mir dieses Foto gelungen - nach einem Kälteeinbruch in zuvor noch feuchtwarmen Dezemberwetter.

Die Südseite der Groß Weller Kirche wird durch zwei Treppenportale aus Backstein im Rundstabprofil und durch fünf Spitzbogenfenster gegliedert. Die beiden westlichsten Fenster sind wohl 1715 vermauert worden, als innen die Empore angebracht wurde. Das größere Treppenportal im Süden hat ein Pendant an der Nordseite. Das südliche ist mit unbehauenen Feldsteinen und Ziegelbrocken in Lehmmörtel vermauert worden, sicherlich beim Einbau des Gestühls; das nördliche Portal – die „Wendenpforte“ wird heute als Gemeinde-Eingang genutzt.

Ein kleineres Südportal (die Priesterpforte) ist mit Ziegeln heutigen Formats zugesetzt. Es soll im 19.Jahrhundert noch längere Zeit als Zugang gedient haben - zuletzt für „zwei reiche Fräuleins“, die wohl einiges Geld für die Kirche verwendet hatten
