Summary[edit]

Description
English: Movie sequence from Vienna created in summer 1938 by the American physician and amateur filmmaker Dr. Lafayette P. Monson on his round-the-world-trip.

First scene shows a billboard with stereotype caricature of a Jew and the text “Judentum ist Verbrechertum. Lest die Stürmer-Sondernummer” (Jewry is Criminality. Read the Stürmer special issue) in front of the Vienna opera house. Following parts showcase antisemitic smearings on a Jewish café and Jewish shops at Nestroyplatz in Vienna's 2nd district (the former Jewish quarter). The movie sequence was shot on 16mm Kodachrome and is therefore originally in color.
