Description
English: The still above shows the Life and living of the people of Kumartuli. One of the most significant cultural sites of Bengal, Kumartuli houses people of admirably strong belief portraying it through their skills of carving. People here have accepted Art as their Life, and a source for and of living. Hours of endlessly perfecting models require strong determination and talent sharpened by skills. Craftsmen here have been creating idols for generations, passing their wealth of knowledge through craving faith from clay. The still above shows a determined man driven by passion to create what he himself and the whole state worships.
