Description |
Svenska: SKÅL. Klockformig. Dekor i blått. Porcelain bowl decorated in underglaze cobalt blue. Qing dynasty, 19th centurySimple, thickly-potted bowls with rudimentary decoration were made in huge numbers for the Southeast Asian market. Often cargoes contained such wares alongside porcelain destined for further afield, because ships tended to stop at several locations along their routes. This meant that merchants could increase profit by unloading part of their cargoes to take on fresh goods, or could sell entire cargo-loads to separate clients for onward shipment to different destinations. |
