A wonderful good old fashioned march, written and self-published by a composer from Maine in 1907. "Machigonne" was the indigenous name for the region around what is now Portland, Maine, Maine's largest city. It was also the name of a large luxury yacht which served as a ferry for the elite starting in 1907. The cover of this piece features a good photo of the Machigonne, which is still afloat even today, in Brooklyn, New York, renamed the Yankee Ferry. Thank you to JohnJ1995 for finding this info. Score #165 in my current ongoing series "Women Ragtime Composers" featuring interesting scores written by ragtime era women. Lots more to come. All can be seen on YouTube at this link, where this series is being positively received: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwk68P83iuhvxDlLI_-Yi4g/videos

Original score source was from the University of Maine at this link: https://digitalcommons.library.umaine.edu/mmb-ps/1001/

This is a reproduction of the original score, no changes were made. I would recommend changing the RH notes in measures 9 and 65 to octaves, but I left it as written.
