"Wiki Loves" name

Wikipedia should stop the "Wiki Loves" at the beginning of these otherwise wonderful drives because it clearly violates NPOV. There is a lot of controversy surrounding monuments in various parts of the world. For example, look at the articles: Removal_of_Confederate_monuments_and_memorials, Statue_of_Joseph_Stalin,_Berlin, Statue_of_Peace. These are highly charged issues, and at the very top of the page is a banner blasting the words, "Wiki Loves Monuments"! This is NOT the NPOV message Wikipedia should be sending. Wikipedia use of "Monument"

It is a bit confusing when looking at what is now considered a Monument for purposes of this competition. It may be that Wikipedia should only accept photos of 'Monuments' as per Wikipedias own definition which states..."A monument is a type of—usually three-dimensional—structure that was explicitly created to commemorate a person or event, or which has become relevant to a social group as a part of their remembrance of historic times or cultural heritage, due to its artistic, historical, political, technical or architectural importance. Examples of monuments include statues, (war) memorials, historical buildings, archaeological sites, and cultural assets. If there is a public interest in its preservation, a monument can for example be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.[1]". However, the Photos, often those that are winning prizes, are often...not monuments by this definition. Example, works of art are of course noteworthy, and intensely interesting...but to include paintings in monuments is not accurate, even if there is an intense cultural pride in that object. Similarly, a picture of a boarded up Housing project in Louisiana is a powerful picture, but hardly a monument by any definition.

One option, might be for Wikipedia to expand their contests, so that there are many more inclusive categories, like a general "Photo contest" and leave monuments to cover monuments, or perhaps adjust definitions to cover Wikipedia's definition of what is a monument. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 73.118.108.94 (talk) 23:58, 6 September 2019 (UTC)

Incorrectly categorized WLM locations

I recently stumbled upon some images of Fort Point National Historic Site in San Francisco, which are incorrectly categorized as being under "Wikipedia Loves Monuments 2019 in New York."
