Amenap‘erkič[edit]

Hi, and congrats for participating!
If anyone of you is in Desgh, could he/she take a photograph of the Amenap‘erkič? And that would be nice if he/she could go to Marts for the last Amenap‘erkič missing on Commons. If none of you can do this, thank you for mentioning this request anywhere it's suitable.

Thanks! :)
Sure I will. But just to be sure: is Amenap‘erkič the same church as St Grigor Lusavorich (Սբ Գրիգեր Լուսավորիչ)? Because I can't find Amenap‘erkič (Ամենափրկիչ) in the list of monuments of Dsegh. --vacio 09:53, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Btw, photos of Dsegh uploaded so far are here. --vacio 09:55, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't think when posting that it could also designate a church (though I know it): I'm talking about Amenap‘erkič xač‘k‘ar. The one in Dsegh (1281) is probably 7.35/15.1.6 (you can see it here), and the one in Marts (1285) 7.71/19.1.6 (both places and dates are sourced by Donabedian and Thierry).

PS: Just some context in case of: there are only four (medieval) of these (we have photographs of the two others in Category:Amenaprkich khatchkars). Sardur (talk) 18:55, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template removal/replacement[edit]

I've noticed that something wrong is happening:

  • Users Interfase and Urek Meniashvili is removing the ID template from images that were uploaded via Campaign:wlm-am (as here).
  • The template is then replaced with {{Cultural Heritage Azerbaijan}} + with the Azerbaijani ID of the same monument.
  • The same template is added to images that weren't uploaded for WLM (as here)

I just want to make clear that the templates {{Cultural Heritage Armenia & Nagorno-Karabakh}} and {{Cultural Heritage Azerbaijan}} are only meant for Images that were uploaded for the specific campaign. For instance, they are used to count the number of Images uploaded from WLM in a specific country. You can add the template to a Category if you want to (that's not a problem), but if you add it to an image description, you pretend that it was uploaded by a participant of WLM in Azerbaijan against their will (while in fact they are participants WLM in Armenia & Nagorno-Karabakh).

If you have any comment about the details or name of {{Cultural Heritage Armenia & Nagorno-Karabakh}}, feel free to discuss it, but changing image ID's and other automatically generated metadat should stop. --vacio 11:49, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually you must stop adding templates {{Cultural Heritage Armenia}} and {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2013|am}} in these pages because they automatically add categories with " in Armenia". Template {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2013|am}} adds category "Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013", and template {{Cultural Heritage Armenia}} adds "Images from Wiki Loves Monuments 2013 in Armenia". But these monuments aren't in Armenia. They are in Azerbaijan. And it is a logical consequenses that there should be Azerbaijani ID, because all these monuments are in the list of WLM Azerbaijan. --Interfase (talk) 14:56, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see a number of serious issues here,
Photos are being changed from WLM Armenia & Nagorno Karabakh to WLM Azerbaijan, thus
  1. WLM AM contest participants, are being excluded from contest, with no valid reason. (excluded by users who have nothing to do with WLM AM, and also failed to properly organize their own contest)
  2. Participants become part of another contest, against their will and without their consent. A contest they can't actually participate in, and contest which isn't really organized.
  3. WLM Tools stop working correctly.
  4. Statistics is being messed up.
  5. Categories are not being assigned, as WLM AZ failed to prepare lists in required format in time.
Due to complicated relationship between Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh Reoublic, and Azerbaijan it will not be possible for those people to participate in WLM Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani organizers will not be able to visit Armenia and NKR, without special permission from 3 sides.
That's why it is impossible for NKR to participate in WLM AZ, and for WLM AZ to organize anything in NKR. Thus edits of Interfase and Urek Meniashvili, absolutely pointless and hurting whole WLM idea and success. I don't think we should bring politics into creative contest aimed to spreading free knowledge and preserving world cultural heritage, nor do I think we should sacrifice our missions, for political views of few persons.
So won't you please stop making a drama out of name of HIDDEN category used for technical puproses which can't and shouldn't be changed, and learn a thing about WLM tools and workflow? Noone stops you, from adding categories, you're welcome to do so, BUT deleting correct information is unacceptable, changing or removing category names added by WLM bots/upload wizard is also unacceptable. Adding WLM AZ template/category is highly unrecommended, because of above mentioned reasons, and because tools will stop working and we'll have to process hundreds if not thousand of photos manually (see conversation in WLM mailing list). It's sad we're forced to explain such basic things to a WLM organizer, in the middle of contest. --Xelgen (talk) 16:42, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Khachkar in Vagharshapat[edit]

Hi,
Could anybody take a photograph of the tewawor xač‘ (Թեվավոր խաչ) from Hovhannavank, 1171, which is now in Vagharshapat (Residence quarter)? I think it's ID 4.2/14.1.6, and I didn't find it among the WLM uploads (which I don't understand, but that's another question). Here is a non-free photograph of it.
If none of you can do this, thank you for mentioning this request anywhere it's suitable.
