International team

[edit]

Several people have agreed to help on the international team, but it looks as if there might be some roles missing, or some roles require to be better supported for the contest to run smoothly.

The way I see it, here is the roles right now missing or could be improved

  1. online communication on twitter (we have an account which is already fairly good) and/or on facebook (we have an account which is already fairly good) and/or on instagram (we have an account which is terribly under-used). There will be one person in charge of regularly publishing info through a social media campaign (Sasha). However, there is no one dedicated to actually track what is going in all the local team social media account, and retweeting those, re-facebooking those and so on. Also, Sasha is not a wikipedian, so she might miss interesting info that would benefit from being relayed. Additionally, last year, in particular on Facebook, we received quite a few (private) requests to answer. In short, we need community manager... who would also be a wikipedian.
  2. during (and after) contest, general clean-up (misplaced images, copyvio, identification of best images to support communication), improvement of categories, description etc.
  3. Erina agreed to be the international jury coordinator. She will need to define how selection will happen. But she will most certainly not be able to do it all by herself. So we will need volunteers to help with image selection, in particular to support image selection of those countries without local teams (or for very small teams of 1-2 new people...)
  4. tech support for any bots or similar tech tool that might be needed. If you are willing to help, now is time to show up
  5. Gathering and publishing stats after the contest. Any wizard who loves stats and data gathering...
