Number of Notgeld[edit]

Moin @5snake5: ,

Excuse me for bothering you, but I noticed that you've been doing a wonderful job for years uploading images of Notgeld to the Wikimedia Commons and wondered how much is covered and how much is missing. I went to search for the number of Notgeld types (Permalink). I found various websites like the Series Notgeld Catalog (Permalink) and Notgeld.com (Permalink) and none of them seemed to have an answer for this. But the article "Notgeld: German Emergency Money 1914-1923" by Ralph Heymsfeld (Permalink) on Coin Spot notes "More than 100,000 distinct paper notes were printed by thousands of public and private entities. A good deal of the original research into notgeld was done by Dr. Arnold Keller who collected the paper notes as they were issued." Yet the answer to the question I asked on Numista a number of years ago (Permalink) told me "Colnect lists 17,137 for German notgeld and 6,794 for Austrian notgeld.".

So my question is, is it known how many different types of Notgeld exist? --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 09:14, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moin Donald,
thank you for the usefull links.
Unfortunately I'm not the one to answer your question. The term "Notgeld" is too fuzzy.
I'm no scientist. I just think, it's more usefull and durable to fill the Wikimedia Commons, than to put my Notgeld in albums. 5snake5 (talk) 05:55, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
