Community Wishlist Survey 2018[edit]

This year's Community Wishlist Survey begins on 29 October. The survey decides what the Community Tech team will work on. we can post proposals from 29 October to 11 November; and vote on proposals from 16 November to 30 November.

An idea of what to expect can be gleaned by perusing last year's survey.

Do we wish to put forward one or more proposals for work that will integrate IIIF more closely into Wikimedia projects? If so, what? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:47, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Pigsonthewing: A user recommended IIIF support at meta:Community_Wishlist_Survey_2019/Multimedia_and_Commons/Display_rectangular_part_of_the_image_as_parameter_of_File_and_compatible_with_ImageNote. --Snek01 (talk) 22:31, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

IIIF hacking projects welcome at the Wikimania 2019 Hackathon[edit]

A note to all followers of this page: the Wikimania 2019 Hackathon (August 14-15 in Stockholm) has a GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) focus area. IIIF-related projects are very welcome there. By all means feel free to add projects and ideas to the focus area page and/or on Phabricator. SandraF (WMF) (talk) 14:31, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User script for display IIIF content in Wikidata[edit]

FYI, there is a new user script that will display a IIIF viewer on a Wikidata item page if there is an IIIF manifest.

Original script:

IIIF endpoint down, any outlook on fixes?[edit]

Hi,

judging from the 503 error on https://tools.wmflabs.org/zoomviewer/proxy.php?iiif=Godward_Idleness_1900.jpg/pct:65,81,35,15/full/0/default.jpg, it seems the IIIF endpoint is down. Does anybody know if there are any plans (by WMF???) to start hosting a workiong IIIF-endpoint in the near future?
