Mention of CommonsTicker[edit]

I believe that CommonsTicker is no longer functional, and that it would therefore be reasonable to remove reference to it from this page. billinghurst sDrewth 10:19, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, please do. ++Lar: t/c 20:55, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done, though the whole thing appears to need updating. –Juliancolton | Talk 17:24, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saibo ‎has suggested that the subject subpage be incorporated here. I'll start doing that unless there are objections.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:16, 13 March 2012 (UTC) added a link to the discussion. --Saibo (Δ) 15:31, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The parts Other Useful Templates and Text for Helping Newbies and Permanent Links(well, admins need to use that more often than others and should be encouraged to do so. A part should stay on the admin page, but the syntax part should be somewhere else) maaaybe are a bit out of scope for the page and should be placed on a help page somewhere (if not existent) and being linked to. --Saibo (Δ) 15:31, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replacement of deleted files[edit]

The policy page does not elaborate this important question, particularly the mechanism of removal of files deleted on Commons from local wikis (engaging CommonsDelinker). Materialscientist (talk) 03:43, 12 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Improvements[edit]

Hello,

I am a regular contributor to Commons, but am even more active on Wikipedia. I have chatted with Jkadavoor and Jeff G. about possibly improving some of the language in the guide, starting with the Impact of file deletion section, and adding some sample verbiage that admins could cut-and-paste and tweak as needed to help aid communication for some of the most common tasks. The hope is that will aid in communication with users and make things a bit faster and easier for admins.

I am going to be working on putting information together and can start at a subpage, like User:CaroleHenson/Guide to adminship drafts, unless anyone has any other suggestions.

In addition, if there are any requests, like how I approach this, the kind of content to add, etc. that would be helpful so that I am 1) being as responsive as I can to requirements for Commons and 2) deliver something most helpful for you.CaroleHenson (talk) 23:19, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I am looking through Commons:Deletion requests to get ideas for sample text. Is that the best place to look?CaroleHenson (talk) 23:37, 12 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes; and have a look at the content related policies and guidelines too. Jee 02:17, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent, thanks. Will do.CaroleHenson (talk) 02:38, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
