Questions for Ben[edit]

Please post your question below:

  • Background: Using 1" sensor digital camera I've noticed that photos taken at high altitude (3500+ m) are slightly "washed-out" and in Lightroom need some "De-haze" to bring them back, whereas same camera at lower altitude (everywhere) same issue is not seen. Photos 3500+ m taken many locations and weather conditions in Andes in Peru, Bolivia and north Chile.
Question: Is this effect expected; if so what shooting adjustments are appropriate. And what other considerations when shooting at higher altitudes. (If not covered in the main talk). PsamatheM (talk) 16:13, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Daylight saving time problem[edit]

@All, it seems like this is one of the rare occurences where some countries have already switched to daylight saving time, while others have not. I apologize for not noticing this earlier.

Here's what that means: San Francisco and Berlin are usually 9 hours apart. But because the United States have already switched to daylight savings time, while Germany has not, the two places are only 8 hours apart today. So, today's meeting starts at 9:00 PST (California time), which will be 17:00 in Berlin and not 18:00 as usual. Now, I'm not sure which countries will be affected by this, so I'll ping all people on the list of participants who I know don't live in the United States. Please check which time in the place you're currently at matches 9:00 California time. That's when the meeting today starts. Sorry for the inconvenience. This only happens for a couple of weeks each year and I didn't notice it when I put the event on the calendar. --Frank Schulenburg (talk) 11:01, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
