Hi there,

I was away on holiday when this was discussed - apologies that I wasn't available to explain. I think there was an error on my end as I didn't make my request entirely clear.

The purpose of the bot is not to EDIT but to manually harvest data from Wikimedia Commons. I have used code to this end via the API but the API has a cap of 500 items, whilst the group of items I need to harvest data from is ~2500 items.

The code that the bot uses is python and it prints the harvested data into JSON.

Please elaborate why this cannot be achieved with the dump, with a labs database access account, or with 500 entries API queries. Krd 09:07, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
