This page describes how to help out with the Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 upload campaigns.

Configure a upload campaign[edit]

You need to be an Upload Wizard campaign editor or an administrator to be able to do this.

  1. Go to Special:UploadCampaigns
  2. Create the campaign
    The naming convention is wlm-<countrycode>. If your country has multiple systems or it's about a part of the country, append that code. The name should be in line with these statistics
  3. Fill out the fields:
    1. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-name⧽ - the name of the campaign, you just set that
    2. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-enabled⧽ - to enable the campaign. Do this when you're done
    3. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-headerLabelPage⧽ - The header template
      Before September this should be Template:Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 August/$1 to show {{Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 August}}
      During September this should be Template:Upload campaign header <campaign name>/$1 to show for example {{Upload campaign header wlm-nl}}, the full list is further down
      After September this should be Template:Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 finished/$1 to show {{Upload campaign header Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 finished}}
    4. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-skipTutorial⧽ - we don't want the tutorial, check this
    5. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-tutorialTemplate⧽ - skip
    6. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-tutorialWidth⧽ - skip
    7. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-tutorialHelpdeskCoords⧽ - skip
    8. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-idField⧽ - The template here at Commons to mark these images, for example {{Rijksmonument|$1}} to use {{Rijksmonument}}
    9. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-idFieldLabel⧽ - Label to show next to the id field, next field will override this
    10. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-idFieldLabelPage⧽ - MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-campaigns-<campaign name>-id/$1 to show for example Rijksmonumentnummer, the full list is further down
    11. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-idFieldMaxLength⧽ - The maximum length of the id. 25 should be more than enough
    12. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-idFieldInitialValue⧽ - You probably want to leave this one empty
    13. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-ownWorkOption⧽ - Set to ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-owner-own⧽
    14. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-licensesOwnWork⧽ - Skip
    15. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-defaultOwnWorkLicence⧽ - Set to Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 or your local Commons Attribution ShareAlike 3.0 version. We strongly advise only to select one license option!
    16. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-defaultCategories⧽ - Set to the top of you category tree here at Commons for example Rijksmonumenten to have the images end up in Category:Rijksmonumenten
    17. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-autoCategories⧽ - Maintenance category to keep track of uploads. You can probably leave this empty unless you really need this.
    18. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-autoWikiText⧽ - Stuff to put at the bottom:
      Before September this should be empty
      During September this should be {{Wiki Loves Monuments 2012|<your countrycode>}}
      After September this should be empty}

  5. Update #Campaign templates

General templates[edit]

These templates are shared for all campaigns and should be available in your local language(s):

Campaign templates[edit]

Each campaign has it's own header and id template which should be available in at least English and one or more local languages.

Header template[edit]

The header template is shown at the top of the uploadwizard during the whole upload process.

Copy the following code to Template:Upload campaign header <campaign name> (for example Template:Upload campaign header wlm-nl)

This was the hardest part. Now just can start making versions in other languages.

Id template[edit]

The id template is used as a label for the step where users need to fill out information about their photo. It can not contain any wiki markup. The naming convention is [[MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-campaigns-<campaign name>-id/<language code>]] for example MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-campaigns-wlm-nl-id/en for the Netherlands in English.

All UploadCampaigns need to be modified:

  1. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-autoWikiText⧽ (Stuff to put at the bottom) should be updated to be {{subst:WLM-is-running|<your-countrycode>|{{Wiki Loves Monuments 2012|<your-countrycode>}}}}

Start[edit]

When Wiki Loves Monuments starts all UploadCampaigns need to be modified:

  1. ⧼Mwe-upwiz-campaign-conf-headerLabelPage⧽ (the header template) needs to be changed to Template:Upload campaign header <campaign name>/$1 to show for example {{Upload campaign header wlm-nl}}, the full list is up
