The table above ranks the usernames of all participants in the photographic competition Wiki Loves Cultural Heritage 2013 in Macedonia according to the ranking criteria adopted for that purpose. Only the usernames of the participants who have uploaded at least one photograph are listed.

The ranking of participants was done by using three criteria: number of accepted photographs (50%), number of photographed objects (40%) and overall description quality (10%). Each of these criteria is explained in details in the notes on the bottom of this page.

Notes:

  • ^ The total number of photographs includes the photographs uploaded and properly categorised during the competition.
  • ^ The number of rejected photographs include the photographs that do not comply completely with the rules. Grounds for rejecting a photograph are the following:
    • photographs uploaded out of the project's timeframe;
    • photographs with exceptionally low quality or photographs subject to artificial manipulation (e.g. black-and-white photographs, watermarked photographs, photographs with unnatural objects from other photographs, etc.);
    • photographs depicting objects that cannot be considered part of the country's cultural heritage:
      • natural heritage;
      • panoramic photographs of cities without specifying any particular object with exception of the city of Ohrid which is listed as part of UNESCO cultural heritage;
      • photographs depicting multiple objects without specifying a single one;
      • photographs depicting streets;
      • photographs depicting other other objects that cannot be considered part of the country's cultural heritage (e.g. dishes that are not traditional to Macedonia, modern objects with no significance to the culture, etc.)
  • ^ The number of accepted photographs includes the photographs that fully comply with the rules. Only the accepted photographs are subject to the ranking.
  • ^ The number of photographed objects counts for the number of different objects that were taken photographs from, such that:
    • multiple photographs of one building, monument or item from different angles count one;
    • multiple photographs of a monastery count one, though the photographs of every single object within the monastery complex count separately;
    • photographs of monuments located in the yard surrounding a building count separately;
    • multiple photographs of an icon or fresco count one, though photographs from multiple icons or frescoes in the same church count separately;
    • photographs from inscription plates of objects and monuments, details from bridges and fortresses do not count separately.
  • ^ The overall note for description quality of the accepted photographs is averaged in a scale ranging from 0 to 10 using the following criteria: description quality, description adequacy to the photographed object and the script in which it was written. Description in language different than Macedonian are accepted and the same criteria apply for them. The use of illogical, incomplete and very short description, the lack of capitalisation of letters when necessary and the use of Latin script for writing in Macedonian are the most usual grounds for assigning lower note.
  • ^ The total number of points is calculated as a weighted average of the three criteria: number of accepted photographs (50%), number of photographed objects (40%) and overall description quality (10%). The calculation includes the first two in absolute numbers, while the note of overall description quality is standardised as a percentage of the number of accepted photographs.
