CERN Document Server Photos[edit]

  • Why it is exceptional: There are almost no high resolution, high quality CERN/LHC images on Commons. The document server, however, hosts thousands. Even receiving permission for just one or two of them (like this one) could make highly valuable educational material freely available on Commons.
  • Why the author might relicense it: CERN is not a commercial institution. Being a scientific project, they might be quite open to requests from a proect dedicated to making the knowledge of the world freely available.
  • Status: Not done.

The images may be used for educational or informational
purposes. Requests for permission for any other use must be addressed
to CERN. The images may not be used in a misleading, inappropriate or
offensive manner, in a military context, in advertising or in a manner
that suggests any kind of endorsement by CERN or its personnel.
