This WikiProject is dedicated to the creation, use and maintenance of templates in the Creator namespace. All pages in that namespace should use {{Creator}} template and be used in author/artist fields of {{Painting}}/{{Information}} templates. Ideally all files of known authors claiming Public domain due to copyright expiration should use {{Creator}} template to support their claims.
Creator pages should be brief but provide handy links to relevant galleries on Commons or articles in Wikipedias, where more information can be found.
At the moment there are 61,130 {{Creator}} templates.

Task in Creator: namespace[edit]
- Maintenance of existing Creator pages:
- Validation of information in Creator pages
- Standardization and cleanup of Creator pages
- Addition of Images to Creator pages
- In March 2010 Jarekt and User:Docu added images to 100s creator pages. Images were identified by searching for images categorized as self-portraits and transcluding a "creator template without image" sub-template. See Template_talk:Creator#Images for details.
- Addition of links to names and locations
- Internationalization of Creator pages
- Removal of auto-categorization of files by Creator pages. (see Category:Creator templates using auto-categorization)
- In Jan 2010 the following script was used by User:JarektBot to add categories to images and remove auto-categorization from creator pages where Creator page name was identical to the Category name.

Task in Category: namespace[edit]
- Standardization of categories related to Creator pages
- Name synchronization between Creator pages and related categories. (see Category:Creator templates with non-matching home categories)
Task in File: namespace[edit]
- Inclusion of Creator pages in files that could use them
- This code is being used to test if it is possible to add creator templates to files. All files using {{PD-Art}} and {{PD-Old}} are being tested.
