  •  Question Thank you for this interesting set nomination. I have some questions:
  •  Oppose for now. Thank you for providing the extra detail. First of all, I agree with you that the images are quite if not very valuable. They would improve though if the individual images had a description of the subject. It is not evident at first sight for several of the photogrphs. I saw some short descriptions in the source. They could be added to increase value. However, to become a Valued Image Set the set, as seen as a whole should IMO represent a substantially higher value than the accumulated value of each individual image. Otherwise there is not a point in identifying it as a VIS. I can also see that having all the images together gives a more nuanced and complete impression of the daily life and high society in Iran in that period than if I just saw the individual photos out of context. But to my mind that does not stand out as something special in this case, as it is common property of a set of images categorized to the same subject (as these are). For me, the image set would have been complete if these were all the known photos by Antoin Sevruguin. Here it seems, it represents the complete collection of photographs by Antoin Sevruguin from a specific archive. This does not quite pass my completeness-bar. It is like a stamp collection, where I have bought all stamps from Iran from a specific stamp retailer, not as interesting as having a complete set of all stamps from Iran. I would appreciate to learn other reviewers opinion about this nomination. I may be convinced that my reasoning has flaws... -- Slaunger 19:34, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
