  •  Support A specific drawing from a person, who is not known specifically for his artwork is at first thought a rather narrow scope for a valued image candidate. On the other hand, it was made under very special circumstances in the first man-made building on the Antarctica by a person, who is notable for other reasons as can be seen from the Wikipedia article. Adding on top of that the fact that the hut no longer exists (apparently destroyed by penguin guano!), it is not possible to photograph this subject again. The guidelines says the image should illustrate the subject well at the review size. I would say it could have been better as the angle and use of flash makes it hard to see the drawing in detail. However, the already mentioned very special circumstances are sufficient to mitigate that in my opinion. -- Slaunger 12:55, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Question Are you sure the geolocation is right? It seems to be quite some kilometers off the Antarctic coast when looking at link to Google maps in the image page... -- Slaunger 18:35, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your question,Slaunger. Honestly I'm not sure about geolocation, but I used Google Earth and put the location ot the image at excactly the same place, where Google Earth has a pointer for Cape Adare. I'll try to do some more recearch.--Mbz1 23:27, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked few more sites including Wikipedia and most of them gives the coordinates I have at the image.--Mbz1 23:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm.. Yes I can see on GE that it is the same position as Cape Adare, but that aooears to be in the middle of the sea. It is part of the mainland, right, and not just an island? Maybe you can confirm, since you have been there (we should probably erase this location again from this page as it will pop up on GE now with the Commons layer enabled). -- Slaunger 06:58, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, I moved it a bit, but Google Earth and Google Map still seem to give differend locations. See, the image was taken in such a remote place, that even maps do not match. Does it make it even more valuabale? :) May I please ask you to take a look at Google Earth and see, where Cape Adare pointer is. --Mbz1 02:41, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well it is on the mainland now, which is at least more plausible. Yes, I have also experienced inaccuracies in the arctic with my own photos. The GE resolution is pretty crappy in those extreme regions, so I think this will do. -- Slaunger 07:53, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
