Review
(criteria)
  • (1) File:Boloria chariclea 8600.JPG was taken 25 minutes later and is of a different individual from the one in the nominated image. A species assignment based on an image of only the wing upper surface may be disputed. With images of both surfaces, as in the nominated images, the species assignment is secure. Hence, the nominated images are more valued than images of only one wing surface. (2) The submarginal row of black inwardly pointed triangles with flat bottoms on the hind wing are well-depicted in the nominated image, but are mostly hidden in the image that you cite. They are an important distinguishing feature of the species. (3) A minor point is that I think there is some appeal to a pair of photographs where the only change is the wing orientation and the point of view of the camera.
