You can upload your images to Wikimedia Commons between September 25 and October 30, 2023.

WHow many images can I submit to this contest?[edit]

You can submit up to 10 images, taken with consent, depicting women and non-binary people in sports to Wikimedia Commons.

What kind of images can I upload?[edit]

  • Photos taken with the consent of women and non-binary people participating in any sports in any form (from athletes to fans).
  • Historical images from memory and cultural institutions and community and personal archives of womxn in sports (be sure that you comply with copyright rules of Wikimedia Commons).
  • Illustrations of images, stories, imaginations, and interpretations of our theme, Unpacking Body Plurality in Sports.

What kind of images are not allowed? [edit]

Images that violate copyright rules or denigrate, banalize or insult the people depicted are not admissible.

What kind of considerations should I keep in mind before uploading my images?[edit]

Remember that Wikimedia Commons is a completely open repository. The uploaded images can be accessed but also used by users from all over the world, for different commercial and non-commercial purposes. You can check the license here. Remember to inform about this to the people portrayed when obtaining their consent.

How do I get contacted if I win a prize?[edit]

If you win a prize, we will contact you through Wikimedia Commons, via an email message from the platform - you must have confirmed your email address when you registered. We will make two attempts, and if after 60 days of announcement we have no response, your prize will be no longer available.
