This image was deleted by User:Yann because he thinks that it has no source, no license, and no permission. At the time I downloaded the file WRT54GL-US_v4.30.7.tgz, from which this image was extracted, from http://www.linksys.com/gpl/, there was a notice on the top of the page that stated the files below were licensed under the GPL. This means that the image itself is licensed under the GPL, and therefore can be included because the GPL grants permission for reuse as long as I use the same license, which is the GPL. However, I will admit that it now states "The source code files available on this page have been provided under one or more open source licenses." on the top of the page. If you need third party confirmation of the license due to the change in wording, see http://www.wi-fiplanet.com/tutorials/article.php/3562391, and note that the WRT54GL is just a rereleased WRT54G v4. This image was deleted by user:bryan on the grounds of a copy vio. This is not the case. Could the image be tempoerily undeleted? I shall fix the tag.Symode09 23:47, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

- Hi, could you please send an e-mail to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org with a link to the image page from an e-mail address associated with your website (preferrably @ad-nauseam.org). As soon as the permission is received the image will be restored with the proper information to prevent it from being deleted again. In the future you might want to mention that it can also be found on your website as that will help alleviate any fears admins may have of copyright infringement. Undeletion of File:Lavrentiev i de gaulle.gif[edit]
User:GeorgHH deleted this picture claiming that I do not have the copyrights. But I asked the university of Novosibirsk, which owns all the rights for the pictures of the page http://www.nsu.ru/english/home/history_photo.xml and they agree with their publication. Here is the copy of the e-mails below (it is in Russian but I am sure that one of you understands it. If not, tell me and I will translate in English). Since the owner of the copyrights agree, I would like you to undelete the picture and make it still available on the wikipedia that it uses. Graouilly54 08:49, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

- Well, the licence is not namely specified you're right but then the most restrictive licence with use to wikipedia should be assigned, isn't it ? Honestly, I'm tired to lose time for these issues of licence when I asked permission to the copyrights owner for this use. If it is not sufficient, then delete the picture as you wish and it will be lost on wikipedia unfortunately Graouilly54 17:16, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately we do not accept permissions for a picture to be used specifically on wikipedia, they must be released under a free license. If you don't wish to spend more time on this issue then that's fine but if you do ask the university to release the image under a free license such as CC-BY or the GFDL and then forward the permission to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. - Hi, sorry but this permission isn't enough. They specifically do not allow derivatives of the image meaning it isn't allowed on commons according to Commons:Licensing.
