Consensual review[edit]

File:Senden,_Dortmund-Ems-Kanal,_Ufer_--_2024_--_9892.jpg[edit]

  • Nomination Bank with woodland on the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Senden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany/The shot used the creative technique of intentional camera movement. --XRay 04:11, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Promotion  Support Good quality. --Agnes Monkelbaan 05:19, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
Oppose I have a neutral stance towards ICM, but all trees should be parallel at least (left are leaning to the left and right to the right). --Draceane 11:40, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
  • It is a creative method. Therefore, there is no rule as to how the effect should be created. Every camera movement has its own effect. If you move the camera parallel to the shooting plane, straight lines tend to be created, whereas tilting movements produce rounded edges. You can't say what should be and what shouldn't be. That would stand in the way of creativity. --XRay 22:07, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
  •  Support Personally I like the crooked trees, they make for a more dynamic shot. Standard perspective correction wouldn't work (due to the vertical movement of the camera, the distortion is not constant across the frame) but I suppose one could use something like Photoshop's Perspective Warp to get rid of it. --Julesvernex2 (talk) 19:41, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

  • Nomination Rose garden and palm house of Mainau Island, Lake Constance. --JoachimKohler-HB 01:20, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Oppose Unfortunately the roses are out of focus --C messier 20:44, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Yes, the roses in the foreground are just for framing. --JoachimKohler-HB 21:44, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
  •  Comment IMHO it is distacting to have an out of focus frame (or foreground element in general) that hides what appears to be the main focus of the photo. --C messier 16:25, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
  •  Oppose The overall quality is borderline (even the in-focus garden is a bit noisy and blurry). The out-of-focus wall and roses might be "just for framing", which could look nice - but as they make up almost half of the picture, they should be sharper. It might look better when cropping the blurry wall away (leaving only 2 of the blurry roses in foreground). --Plozessor 05:18, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
