Consensual review[edit]

File:Elisabethfehn Torfkoksfabrik.jpg[edit]

  • Nomination Former peat coking plant in Elisabethfehn, Germany. --Jacek79 19:20, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Oppose I know it is raining like hell, but this photo is for me too noisy for Q1 --Michielverbeek 22:16, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
  •  Comment I don't think rain is an issue as I see the rain accurately portrayed and there's a surprisingly insignificant amount of random noise. Metadata would be nicelooks great. There's CA on the right (in the tree) and highlights are pushed a bit too far and create an exagerated sky outline w/the structures, if those are fixed I'll support. I also feel like the leftmost part is stretched a bit wider (see 70 sign) but I could be wrong. --Trougnouf 22:59, 14 February 2018 (UTC)
  • ✓ Done OK, I've adapted the highlights and removed the blurry left margin. Please assess again. BTW, it's wet snow coming down here, not rain. --Jacek79 20:19, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you. It definitely looks more natural than the last version, the sky outline still stood out when I opened it but it's good enough imo. There's still CA (green shadows) on the tree (between branches) on the right and that was my biggest issue.
I hadn't initially noticed your first upload which is my favorite and I'd vote for as-is, the colors look very natural and while the tree is a bit dark and the sky a bit light, the tree doesn't have any CA issue and its darkness is not a deal-breaker, the sky isn't overexposed / makes a gradient without blowing anything up (also the middle building's roof doesn't have that black gradient) and it's what I would expect real life to look like on a snowy day. Either way I think it's a good picture and I'll vote for your favorite version if you get rid of the green shadows--Trougnouf 21:12, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
  • ✓ Done CAs in the trees removed. Better now? --Jacek79 20:19, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Yes, it looks like you removed them manually and there are still some weird light green spots (I highlighted the most obvious ones I think) but it's pretty minor, I think the image is good enough to  Support --Trougnouf 21:22, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Himmel links zu dunkel, breiter Halo um die Gebäude --Ralf Roletschek 10:31, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Wrong description. Perhaps it should be named "Terrible rain in a village of Germany". -- Spurzem 10:35, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
  •  Support - I'm surprised by the opposition. The quality is quite good enough for a photo taken in driving rain, IMO. -- Ikan Kekek 00:13, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose No problem with the rain, but as for Ralf: Overprocessed. Also CA, dustspots, rather unsharp at the left side. --Smial 00:16, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
Total: 2 support (excluding the nominator), 4 oppose → Declined   --Peulle 14:10, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
