Consensual review[edit]

File:Termessos_-_Theater.jpg[edit]

  • Nomination Termessos - Theatre --Imehling 12:23, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  OpposeInsufficient quality. Overprocessed --Moroder 10:00, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Please, could you be a little bit more specific? I actually did no more processing than normalization and slightly enhanced sharpness. --Imehling 11:59, 13 August 2015 (UTC) Comment
It is a very nice composition but the quality of detail does not satisfy me. Probably because of the sharpening and maybe too much contrast also. The sky btw does not look natural but oversaturated. I don't mind if you put it for discussion. Cheers --Moroder 15:23, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
    Ok --Imehling 16:35, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
  • IMO you should reduce constrast and brightness (lights) just a little. Otherwise I thinks it's a well done image and QI-worthy. --Tsungam 06:59, 20 August 2015 (UTC)
  • ✓ New version I hope it's better now.--Imehling 19:10, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

File:La_Sciblota_y_Ciampanil_te_Val_da_duman_Sëlva.jpg[edit]

  • Nomination Sunrise over the La Sciblota peaks in the Langental in Gröden - South Tyrol --Moroder 15:37, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Oppose oversharpened, white outline on the rock-sky edge --SkywalkerPL 22:01, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Comment I explained this several times on QIC. 1) The outline is not an artifact from sharpening since I rarely if ever sharpen my images. 2) The outline is of 2-3 pixels size which is less than 1/1000 of the whole picture width or length and it appears always between sorfaces of great difference of luminosity. 3) You don't see it at normal pixel size magnification. It disappears if you risize the image but resizing is discouraged by the Wikimedia guidelines. Thanks --Moroder 07:35, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
It really doesn't matter what's the original source of the bright artefact on a photograph. It's clearly there and it's a problem that can be - and should be - removed in post-processing, just like chromatic aberrations are. --SkywalkerPL 08:40, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

    •  Comment I Havn't done any sharpening. I want to make that clear!--Moroder 08:06, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Comment If you have Photoshop, it´s really easy and fast to clear this contrast lines. Without PS it is not possible. Eventually Gimp, but I have no idea how. In my opinion, it is a postprocessing problem directly from the camera itself, it occurs with almost every model - even when you work with RAW (we don´t get really the unprocessed digital neagative!). --Hubertl 10:24, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Comment Yes I have Photoshop elements can I use that and how. Thanks --Moroder 15:40, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
I´m afraid, this technique does only work with Photoshop - the complete one, not not Photoshop elements. You can send me the Raw file somehow (drop box/google drive), I will make it for you, just as a demonstration. Maybe, it´s worth for you, to invest 10 €/month. --Hubertl 16:04, 16 August 2015 (UTC)  Comment
Thanks, I'll try it. I'm thinking of Lightroom, any experience on your side? --Moroder 21:21, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Only the best. I´m handling 20-30.000 pictures every year with LR, In the meantime,I can not imagine, working without LR. I have the bundle with Photoshop, right now Adobe has the typical August offer for 9.99. I´m usualy not a friend of closed software, but in this case (I´m working with Photoshop from the very beginning, that means 25 years) IMO there is nothing better. Even when I use additional special software like Helicon focus for special works (like these camera pictures), or Hugin for panos. IMO, the most important effort is, you can save time. Which we don´t have so much left. --Hubertl 22:04, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Ein herzliches Vergeltsgott und Gruß aus ST --Moroder 08:19, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
As for me, I can confirm that Lightroom is really excellent, very easy and stunning ! I often use it in combination with GIMP.--Jebulon 21:17, 17 August 2015 (UTC)
