Consensual review[edit]

File:Black-Drongo.jpg[edit]

  • Nomination Black drongos are very bold birds, they can chase away any other birds of any size. By User:Mildeep --Nirmal Dulal 07:02, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

Comment Would be more effective image if cropped tighter. --GRDN711 01:09, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

  •  Oppose The eye and the beak do look good, but unfortunately the rest of the head shows hardly any detail. This might be the result of (over)sharpening, which looks a bit unnatural on this photo. The parts of the bird that are best in focus appear to be well behind the head, in the upper part of the wing in the background. There is quite a lot of detail of the feathers visible in this area, but not anywhere else. Still a nice photo, but not a QI IMO. --Robert Flogaus-Faust 22:26, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
  •  Support Just OK for a bird in flight. Charlesjsharp 10:52, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
  •  Support per Charlesjsharp. The photo is sufficient for an A4-size printout. But: It could be even better, because it suffers from this thing with the exaggerated noise reduction, after which it is then oversharpened. This leads to an inhomogeneous, artificial-looking image impression, regardless of whether this is done automatically in the camera (or smart phones, where this is standard nowadays and apparently almost impossible to control) or manually during post-processing. Just don't try to completely remove the sensor noise in digital photos unless it is absolutely necessary to achieve special effects. --Smial 02:18, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
