What is it about?[edit]

The purpose is just having fun and getting to know more Commoners or Wikimedians interested in photography. Everybody is welcome! It doesn't matter whether they are professionals, long time amateurs, beginners or ar just curiour about an event like this. You can choose any of the proposed visits or both of them. Both will take place in the evening/night after the official programme.

Meetup on July 17th[edit]

Visit to the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the most relevant archeological museums in the world.

Wiki takes Antropología! The National Anthropology Museum (Spanish: Museo Nacional de Antropología, MNA) is a national museum of Mexico, the most visited in the country. Contains significant archaeological and anthropological artifacts from Mexico's pre-Columbian heritage, such as Mayan Pakal's Mask and Aztec Stone of the Sun. The museum is offering a special guided tour by specialists from 7 to 10 pm. Usually the museum have high attendance, so this night will be open only for wikipedians. Free transport will be offered. Bring your camera and let’s take the museum! Note: This tour have a maximum attendance for 80 people, please confirm. The visit is sponsored by Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia and Secretaría de Turismo de la Ciudad de México.

  • Meeting point Lobby of Hilton Mexico City Reforma on Friday, July 17th at 6 p.m. The visit will take from 7 to 10 p.m.

Meetup on July 18th: cancelled[edit]

We'll meet on Saturday, July 18th at 6:00 pm at the venue (Hilton Hotel), exactly in the crossing between Av. Juárez and Azueta (see the green star in the tour map). We will leave towards the Juarez metro station at 6:15 p.m. so, please, don't be late. The tour will take about 3 hours, so, don't forget to bring your tripod with you!
