Posterized hibiscus[edit]

This is my favorite self-created work so far. It's a posterized macro of a hibiscus. It has good resolution even at its highest size. ––Siddharth Patil (talk) 01:31, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice colours, but I don't know whether you're going to get an artistic critique here. Most wikimedia projects are looking for illustrative images not original artwork. A posterized image probably won't have a use here, a closeup of the flower showing good detail and true colours would probably impress people :-) --Tony Wills (talk) 19:55, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I uploaded the photo to illustrate the concept of posterization. I do have the original base photo; I will upload it eventually. --Siddharth Patil (talk) 00:33, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, to illustrate posterisation it would help to have the original to compare. The other illustration in the en:wp article illustrates the banding effect quite well, perhaps your one should have a caption that mentions it is an example of posterisation for artistic purposes? I'm not really sure upon what criteria to critique it though :-) --Tony Wills (talk) 08:19, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
