Wikimedia Commons hosts many panoramic images (both photographic and painted) and videos. A panorama is a still or moving image that displays a greater solid angle of a scene than typical for images due to unusual lens configurations, or software 'stitching'. This definition includes full- or half-sphere panos that capture a complete horizon, but also partial-horizon images. Determining whether an image is panoramic in nature or not depends on context, such as what the intended use of the image is.

An image's panoramic nature can be specified at Wikidata or in Commons' structured data repository using the properties panoramic view (P4291), ground level 360 degree view URL (P5282) and spherical panorama image (P4640); view (P8517) may also be useful.
