경위

This app started as an official Wikimedia app in 2012, before being abandoned in 2014 to focus on the Wikipedia app. 그 결과, 이 어플의 관리는 IEG 조성금 수급자와 봉사자가 담당하고 있습니다.

During the period from September 2016 through August 2022, Josephine Lim was the maintainer of the app. She managed to source funding for the app through IEG grants which helped the app's development.

Since 2023, Kaartic Sivaraam is the maintainer of the app. It is now developed by volunteers.

이 어플은 저작권 침해나 자신이 찍은 사진의 범람에는 일절 책임을 지지 않습니다.

휴대 단말으로의 이미지 업로드와 관련해서 직접 찍은 사진의 범람(selfie-pocalypse)가 화제로 올라가지만 원인은 어디까지나 모바일 웹판의 인터페이스(현재 미사용)에 있으며 어플 미비는 아닙니다. 주의해주세요. 현재, 얻을 수 있는 모바일판 어플은 안드로이드용으로 개발됐습니다. 두 종류는 각각 성립으로부터 독자성을 유지하며 작업 단계도 다릅니다. 모바일의 웹사이트는 브라우저 경유로 단순하게 접속할 수 있지만 이에 대해서 사용자는 플랫폼 고유(네이티브) 어플을 다운로드해서 사용합니다. 모바일판의 웹사이트에서 사용할 수 없는 기능도 네이티브용으로는 개발할 수 있는 가능성이 있습니다.

어플을 사용해서 업로드된 이미지는 모두 어플 담당 부서가 점검하는 것에 따라서 저작권 침해나 공개를 하면 안되는 이미지는 신속히 삭제됩니다. 안드로이드판 어플을 사용한 업로드 권수와 삭제 건수의 통계는 여기를 통해서 확인 가능합니다. 보시는대로 업로드 이미지는 약 95%에는 문제가 없습니다.
