Animated gif problem

I noticed that a map I created, File:Roman Empire map-2.gif, only plays when it's opened on it's "fully opened". In other words, it won't play on its file page nor in article thumbnails. Does anyone know why this might be? Swarm (talk) 19:27, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

I have the same problem with File:Dateline-animation-3deg-borderonly-180px.gif although it is quite small. How can I get an animated thumbnail? Arnaudf (talk) 10:07, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Swarm -- 800 × 760 × 37 is 22,496,000, and this is greater than the 12,500,000 limit... AnonMoos (talk) 11:24, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Arnaudf -- 180 × 300 × 360 is 19,440,000, which is also greater than the 12,500,000 limit. You would have to reduce the number of frames from 360 to 231 to be within the limit... AnonMoos (talk) 11:27, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Throw away rsvn... please :)

We all know that rsvn is not maintained, and moreover: nothing happens to get it work right. Today, another part of my SVG diagrams was broken by this program, where such details, as dashed lines are extremely important to understand the diagram content. There are some both open-source and actively maintained command-line SVG renderers that can be bound with MediaWiki, including Inkscape (yes, it does have a command-line mode suitable for batch rendering). Why not using them? I have no more strength to guess, what went wrong this time. If nothing is going to be done about this issue, I'll reupload my images in PNG format and give up with SVG in Wikimedia projects. --Zyxist (talk) 07:04, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

SVG to PNG

Recently, one of our MRT lines in Singapore was changed from brown to blue, after updating the colour, I realized despite how many times I reupload it or revert to an earlier version, the PNG version remains brown despite the SVG version clearly depicting blue. The name is File:MRT map DT.svg

Have checked it with other users, no one is seeing the blue version. Have also forced refreshed and cleared the cache. Hope that is helpful. Seloloving (talk) 10:36, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

I now see the blue on the 800px-wide view at File:MRT_map_DT.svg. It was probably a server-side caching problem. AnonMoos (talk) 11:23, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
