Messed up thumbnails. Why?

Hi. I have recently uploaded some photographs, but some of them have really messed up thumbnails om Wikimedia Commons. Why is that? And more importantly: How is it to be fixed?

The images can be found here: File list . They all appear to have been stored correctly; if they are clicked and zoomed in on, they display properly. It is just the thumbmnails that are really grainy and bad for some odd reason.

I have contributed thousands of phootographs to Commons and never experienced any problems of this sort. RhinoMind (talk) 23:37, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

This is happening to me as well. File:Penlee Memorial Garden 2017-06-26 10.32.15.jpg and File:Green_and_golden_Butterfly.jpg both have this problem; it seems to happen to portrait and not landscape photos. I've requested permission to upload to test.wikipedia.org to reproduce this problem. I'll file a bug report once that's donenow. Guanaco (talk) 13:06, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks! I don't know if the tech-wizards have looked into this or if something else is going on, but today when I logged in, all the messed up thumbnails looked fine.
I want to say that messed up thumbnails is not an insignificant problem, because images are exactly displayed as thumbnails in articles on Wikipedia. So this bug is affecting the use of images severely. RhinoMind (talk) 17:44, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
@RhinoMind: They're working on it. Not fixed yet, but they said purging the images should work in the meantime. It has "Unbreak Now!" priority on phabricator because this is such a major issue. Guanaco (talk) 17:55, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
