@Gnom, Have you looked into online tools? If you do a quick Google search on "extract sound from video", you may find plenty of free online tools that allow you to do exactly that. --痛 (talk) 16:11, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

- DNI Clapper fileː Try to remove the sudden coughing around the 2ː40 mark.
- Mark Milley fileː Reduce and remove if possible, the sudden muttering from a nearby person around 0ː21 to 0ː24, make the audio slightly more crisp if possible.

Venezuela president recognition map

Hi! Users that are familiar with the topic know that the presidential crisis in Venezuela has been ongoing for four years, and it hasn't been until recently that it seemingly has come to an end. Naturally, this map: File:Venezuela president recognition map.svg has changed drastically since its beginning in 2019. To reflect these changes over the time, I've thought that an animated file, such as a gif, would be ideal. Are there contributors that could help with this? As a matter of fact, the Celebrating Mickey DVD contains the seven-minute Steamboat Willie in high resolution, which will be out of copyright precisely on 1 January 2024. Gnom, I'd recommend an application like WinRAR, 7-Zip (or File Roller if you're using Linux, you can use either) or PowerISO, as they can decompile the ISO file with the short film in it (which these DVDs usually have as a base). I think it's a legal grey area though (don't take this as legal advice, I am not a lawyer), since you're extracting a soon-to-be public domain short film and you're not distributing the said copyrighted work by uploading it to Commons until it is in the public domain (I hope). — Davest3r08 (talk) 15:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)

This snippet of Stockton Rush talking has background music. I checked the source video, and they didn't mention where the music came from, so we can't assume it's properly free. Can the music be stripped out, leaving only Rush's voice? Thanks. --DS (talk) 13:59, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
It would be difficult to surgically remove the music, but the the short duration of the clip and its being barely recognizable in the background at low volume, indicate there is little chance that the clip infringes any copyright.
