- Question Seed pods are very nice. The background down the left hand side seems blotchy and the shadow (?) down the right hand side is slightly offputting. Charlesjsharp (talk) 08:59, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Agree. Plant is okay but the blotchy side of the artificial decor in the background is a nuisance -- Basile Morin (talk) 10:33, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for your comments. I've tried removing the shadow, etc, but it doesn't work. I do have another version. That's this: File:Zaaddozen van een Ratelaar (Rhinanthus) 26-06-2022. (d.j.b) 01.jpg --Famberhorst (talk) 17:10, 11 May 2023 (UTC)
- This view is probably better than the other one but not the background -- Basile Morin (talk) 00:21, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose Unless background can be sorted. These pre-prepared focus-stacked images are not challenging and we can ask for things to be just right. Charlesjsharp (talk) 09:00, 12 May 2023 (UTC)

- Weak oppose The uneven background is distracting. It's green like a natural environment, but it's not nature. It's an artificial decor with obvious flaws giving the impression that the seed pods were taken by an amateur in a studio -- Basile Morin (talk) 01:03, 13 May 2023 (UTC)
- Question Famberhorst, is it an artificial background? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:51, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Answer: That's right. It's a photo from 2022. Then we regularly used this background. Nowadays, if possible, we do it in the nature itself, possibly with a windshield.--Famberhorst (talk) 15:33, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- I see. Why is the background not smooth, then? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:04, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Answer: the photo was taken outdoors, then the lighting conditions will affect the background.--Famberhorst (talk) 04:56, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- If it was taken outside, how was it an artificial background? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:40, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- Answer: The object will be placed out of the wind. Then a frame (1.5 x 1.5 meters) with the desired color is placed as far behind the object as possible. (green in this case) The further back the better the depth of field.--Famberhorst (talk) 16:05, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- I see. In other words, it was a real object, just not part of nature. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:27, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, the background itself was not nature but arranged in nature. The seed pods are of course a natural object.--Famberhorst (talk) 04:56, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Right, but I find this completely legitimate and not at all similar to using a computer program to substitute a different background, although I don't necessarily oppose that, either, if it's done well and described honestly in the file description. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:49, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- The problem is aesthetic. This artificial background is misleading by giving the impression of being green like natural plants, but in reality it is a fake environment -- Basile Morin (talk) 07:05, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- I understand, but as it's blurred bokeh, it makes little difference to me. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:19, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
- Not the same at all. Because nature creates natural harmonies in colors and shades, whereas fake environments ruin this beauty. In this case, the colors seem unreal and the plant in contrast oversaturated. See also this weird green in a previous nomination. Moreover, the false "bokeh" here is not blurred, but dark at the right like folded paper / plastic / whatever -- Basile Morin (talk) 22:29, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
