- Support - I know photos of aurorae can be controversial at FPC, but the immensity of the aurora in the sky and its reflection in the water below are really special to me. I also think the quality and amount of noise are quite good, considering the situation. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:36, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose Please allow me to direct your collective attention to this image, of which this nomination is a slightly modified copy. Said image is already an FP and was a finalist in PotY 2017. As the images are almost identical, I humbly suggest that this nomination is withdrawn.--Peulle (talk) 09:07, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Comment Just for the record: they are indeed very similar, but this is quite obviously not a copy derived from the same base image. Look at the land on the right, that's clearly two different pictures, either taken from different positions or with different water levels. --El Grafo (talk) 11:45, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Sure, but if this is promoted, it says that we can nominate several images that are very similar and expect them to be promoted. Instead of choosing the single best one out of a series, a photographer could shoot a whole series of images and nominate them all. It would undermine what FPC is all about; choosing the single best image between many candidates.--Peulle (talk) 14:57, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- I think they're significantly different and that that's evident from comparing them by clicking back and forth between them. I'll wait a little longer, and if it becomes obvious that there's nevertheless a consensus for your view, I will withdraw, but I don't agree with you. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:09, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- That we disagree on an issue is of course fine; I stand by my point, though, and I feel that if yours prevailed, I should be able to nominate all four images in my M32 series since they're slightly different, and I just don't believe that is the intention behind FPC.--Peulle (talk) 21:34, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- You're able to nominate them, but I get your point, and so far, others seem to agree with you. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:59, 6 September 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose - I have to side with Peulle here. -- Philroc (talk) 15:36, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

- I withdraw my nomination Very well. I bow to the consensus, as I don't really have another option. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 05:05, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
