- Support Again a wonderful building. The light reflections on the floor add something extra to it. --Aristeas (talk) 17:02, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose Indeed a beautiful detailed photo, but unfortunately the floor (bottom part) is deformed. --Michielverbeek (talk) 20:41, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Crap. You should not be allowed to vote. - Benh (talk) 21:01, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- And why not? --A.Savin 02:11, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- I think voters should know minimum things about photography and it's rules.--Amir Pashaei (talk) 08:09, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Everything is deformed in a photo. This sort of (dumb) comment implies it is wrong. And some people might believe and follow in. Since you shoot urself a lot of wide angle, you should know better. I don't think you do urselves good be letting this slips in without raising some warning banner. - Benh (talk) 08:10, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Check the distortions here. The deformation is visible and the strong perspective increases the irregularity. I don't think Michielverbeek's comment is "crap" or "dumb". Prohibiting regulars from voting is more problematic in my opinion -- Basile Morin (talk) 12:33, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- we have distortion in the floor of this picture too. but this kind of distortion is normal.--Amir Pashaei (talk) 14:07, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Extreme distortions often bother people here. This FP for example caused such reactions too. It happens often. But every voter is different and feel the deformations subjectively. The way I understand Michel's comment: 1) He's saying it's "a beautiful detailed photo" 2) "The floor is deformed". Maybe due to the wide angle (weird effect), or due to the irregularity of the tiles, especially at the bottom, some lines are curved. I add a note -- Basile Morin (talk) 15:03, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- I'm an architectural photographer and as I know about distortions, this distortion is not a problem. because every direct lines are direct. perspective error not seen in the picture and every things is OK. if you capture the in front of your feet you will see like the Bottom of this image. and if you want capture Bottom and front side Simultaneously You will have no choice like this kind of distortion. this distortion is very common and normal in architectural photography especially if you want capture front side with floor or dome Simultaneously in one image. we have not any other choice to capture this kind of images without any distortion. your saying "this kind of distortion is wrong" like saying "we should not capture floor or dome with front side in a frame." this kind of distortion not bother people because everybody know mixing the floor or dome with front side can make this distortion and their minds are used to it by see similar pictures in past. --Amir Pashaei (talk) 17:13, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Nobody's saying "this kind of distortion is wrong", just someone wrote "the floor is deformed", and this is true (for at least two reasons). Now you like the effect, but someone else doesn't like. And this person on Commons is allowed to vote. You can be a star photographer, that doesn't mean your pictures will automatically please everyone. So when someone politely says "beautiful but I don't like the bottom" at FPC, just respect this opinion, and wait for the consensus. Tolerance is crucial. Greetings -- Basile Morin (talk) 17:47, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with you in Tolerance and Accepting criticism. but I think opposing just because "I don't like it" not criticism and that's can Leads to chaos. everybody can oppose easily with no reason just by saying "I don't like it". Criticism has principles and most based on knowledge and reasons not by personal tastes --Amir Pashaei (talk) 18:02, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- Complete Image guidelines: 1) "Featured pictures candidates should meet all the following requirements, must have a "wow factor", 2) "An image "speaks" to different people differently". This rule means a picture can be opposed for personal tastes, of course! -- Basile Morin (talk) 22:14, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- If you want to capture part of mosque's dome and floor Simultaneously you will have distortion in your picture, but here disturtion isn't annoying or uncontrolled. a lot of pictures featured like this distortion in floor and I can mention to them if you want.--Amir Pashaei (talk) 12:15, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- If you complain about distorsion, maybe you're missing a big chunk of photography. It's as dumb as complaining that the water on a waterfall is soft. I could play it the same way and oppose all picture with red on them (arbitrary reason). Wording matters. It's fine not to like it, just say it. Don't say it like it's something that needs a fix like a stitching error or out of focus subjects. Regulars above others should know what they talk about. That's not the case here not matter how you look at it. - Benh (talk) 18:16, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
- And come on Basile Morin... - Benh (talk) 18:20, 26 February 2021 (UTC)
