- Question As the following picture by Tuxyso has just been featured,
which one is the best in scope ? -- Trace (talk) 20:07, 17 June 2013 (UTC)
- Info I see no problem that the other photo is already featured, it shows Moyland castle fromt a very different perspective. For an appropriate photographic representation of the castle the photographer faces the problem that the nomination here shows the very characteristic front of the moated castle without the surronding water but with some element of the landscape architecture of the yard. The other photo which is already featured shows the surronding water but not the characteristic front of the building. Why not nominate both photos? There is "no best in scope" - both perspectives are useful. --Tuxyso (talk) 20:35, 17 June 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose The two pictures are useful but this one has a severe issue : the distorsion of the towers. The correction would have been less visible from a little more distant point of view. --Selbymay (talk) 17:08, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hehe, I've waited for this comment :) The towers are not distorted, it is a special characteristic of the architecture. Look at GMaps: [1] or take a look at the official website. The towers are not rounded but have and elliptic form. From my standpoint there is no possibility to go back further. The towers look that way in real. --Tuxyso (talk) 19:15, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I've checked the other pictures (a lot are similar in the category) and it's the only one showing the elliptic form so obviously. Either real or not, I still prefer the other one. --Selbymay (talk) 21:02, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose The second one (already FP) is lovely and I missed supporting it when it got nominated. The first not special enough imo and File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 1.jpg has nicer composition with the two benches and willow tree. BTW: I think there's a risk that "support" votes might be cast for the second image - it isn't an alt nomination. -- Colin (talk) 20:51, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose Definitely not the best in scope, I also prefer File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 1.jpg. Just a quality image, no FP. Sorry. Trace (talk) 20:49, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry, I disagree. Please look thoroughly: The photo File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 1.jpg has several quality issues. If you understand German take a look on this German FPC archive. In short: There are problems with the colors, sky, stitching and with inhomogeneous sharpness distribution. --Tuxyso (talk) 21:13, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- I don't dispute that the other image has some quality issues (though it is pretty good for a compact camera), but its composition is superior and the composition here is not wow enough imo. Colin (talk) 21:40, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- Same as Colin : superior composition of File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 1.jpg. And the german discussion you mention is about File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 2.jpg, which is not the same picture… and therefore has not the same composition !-- Trace (talk) 15:16, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
- I am with you that File:Schloss Moyland Panorama, 1.jpg is also quite good. But currently there is not yet a white bench :) My photo shows a tigther crop with less surrondings - it's a matter of taste. What about an alternative nomination? I have two running ones and cannot nominate it. --Tuxyso (talk) 11:33, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
