- Info The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also known as the lesser panda, is a small mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China. It has dense reddish-brown fur with a black belly and legs, white-lined ears, a mostly white muzzle and a ringed tail. Its head-to-body length is 51–63.5 cm (20.1–25.0 in) with a 28–48.5 cm (11.0–19.1 in) tail, and it weighs between 3.2 and 15 kg (7.1 and 33.1 lb). It is well adapted to climbing due to its flexible joints and curved semi-retractile claws. Created by Mathias Appel, uploaded by Mhao Koe, nominated by -- 20 upper 13:45, 12 August 2023 (UTC)

- Oppose Not exceptional for a zoo photo. What is that blue thing on the bottom right? --SHB2000 (talk) 22:50, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose Not exceptional for a zoo photo. Underside lacks detail, tail is blurry. --Tagooty (talk) 05:48, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Tagooty: The tail is out of focus but not blurred. The face in File:Ailurus fulgens - Karlsruhe Zoo 01.jpg is sharp, but the rest of the upper body is out of focus. Furthermore, the animal is quite adorable, and this image concentrates on the face rather than the body, so I'm really not sure what you want me to alter. Give more information regarding "Not exceptional for a zoo photo". 20 upper 09:02, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
- Photos of animals in zoos are much much easier to take than the wild, and there's an unspoken rule of FP about difficulty – in other words, if a photo taken in a zoo is not perfect to be considered one of this site's finest images, it likely won't pass. --SHB2000 (talk) 10:21, 13 August 2023 (UTC)
