- Support This works both as a purely informative science image and as a piece of art. Do we know what the different kinds of structures are? --El Grafo (talk) 12:58, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- The "bands" are easily identifiable as cellulose fibers. This is low-quality paper so there are bits and pieces of plant (tree) material residue in the paper, the bit with the holes in it. The clumps and lumps are additives to hold the paper together (lignin and glue), make it whiter (chalk and/or starch or titanium dioxide) or some other color plus something for the texture (clay/kaolin). --Cart (talk) 14:32, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Very interesting, thanks! — El Grafo (talk) 17:59, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

- Support per El Grafo. @W.carter: Thank you very much for your explanation! --Aristeas (talk) 07:53, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- No problem. When you study chemical engineering in Sweden, they don't let you off the hook without a hefty dose of paper industry classes, whether you like it or not. ;-/ --Cart (talk) 08:03, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Support I like it even more with Cart's explanation. Daniel Case (talk) 15:01, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
