discussion on taking pictures of subway stations in Germany
... and you certainly won't have to! :-) Some are in fact really, really ugly, like the one near my family's house. Other stations are still on my to-do list though --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 19:56, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For my part, I'm happy to feature any U-Bahn pics that are great, and it doesn't matter to me how many different stations are thus featured. Other cities, including Berlin, have some beautiful U-Bahn stations that could use a great photographic representation on this site. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:38, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Ikan Kekek: Of course I would already have taken lots of Berlin U-Bahn pictures but unfortunately it's forbidden to take photographs inside the stations. --Code (talk) 06:29, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, Berlin's public transportation network is a rather tough place. It's not impossible to get a photo permit though. Deutsche Bahn is way more relaxed, I had no problems taking this FP --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 07:08, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
FoP-Germany doesn't allow interiors. Nice that you document U-Bahn in Munich, but the photos aren't safe on Commons... --A.Savin 20:57, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not being safe on Commons is true of many, many photos here - theoretically. I mean, even most church interiors or pictures taken in zoos are somewhat problematic, considering all legal implications that are summed up by the wonderful German term "Hausrecht"... but this might not be the right place to discuss this issue, imo --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 22:08, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is some difference to your example: a) uploading files to Commons in contrary to someone's Hausrecht does not violate any Commons' policies; b) uploading files not covered by their national FoP rules does. --A.Savin 22:30, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, there seems to be an ongoing legal debate in Germany whether public train stations actually qualify as interiors in terms of FoP. Anyway, I'd argue that a mass deletion of thousands of pictures (!) would be a bit premature at the moment. --Martin Falbisoner (talk) 06:37, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
