This proposed taxonomy for forces and military people involved in wars provides a logical, organized and uniform structure for breaking down these categories. Use of the Korean War provides an example of how the structure breaks down for one war.

People involved (both civilian and military) in a specific war are categorized by war, country, organization, branch of service and military unit, such as:
- Category:People associated with wars
- Category:People by war
- Category:Korean War people
- Category:United States people in the Korean War (people not in the military could remain in this category)
- Category:Korean War people
- Category:People by war
Comments on this taxonomy[edit]
Currently, the stucture used for these groups is not uniform and may require changes to the categories currently in use to fit this scheme.

- Seems a logical extension of existing structures, only thing is Commons seems to prefer the format Category:(name of war here) people of (name of the country here) such as can be seen in Category:World War II people by country.KTo288 (talk) 04:20, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Worried that it is non standard.Category:World War II people by countryfits in with other high level cats Category:Architects by country. But people is only for individuals, a better example is perhaps Category:World War II forces of Poland in the West which gives another taxonomy. I think you should look at these.
