Wikiclones[edit]

Wikipedia clones that also include images from Commons.

Name Caching URL Scan Attribution Notes/attribution description
Everipedia Partial https://everipedia.org/ files
DR
BAD (July 2018) Also see COM:Everipedia. Copies images with descriptions from Commons and fair use from English Wikipedia. Partially deeplinks, partially own cache. Compare File:Richard Matthew Stallman.jpeg and https://everipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Stallman/31584231/. Only attribution consists of a barely visible link to the file page on Commons, no mention of author or license.
Alchetron Yes https://alchetron.com/ files
DR
NONE (July 2018) Wikipedia clone that inserts images and videos from various sources into articles. When an image is clicked, the text "This image may be subject to copyright." appears along with a button "Visit Page". This button, sadly, is a deeplink to the image, not the file page. While the article text is acceptably attributed, image attribution is not okay.
Mashpedia No http://www.mashpedia.com files
DR
OK (July 2018) When an image is clicked, the user is directly taken to the file page on Commons.

Other[edit]

So far just accounts on stock photo sites.

Name Type URL Scan Attribution Notes/attribution description
Alamy Account www.alamy.com files
DR
NONE Various accounts do bulk import of content marked as public domain on Commons. Has been going on since at least 2013. We also have legal threats!
Flickr Account anna pang files files 2
DR DR2
NONE VPC discussion. This anna pang (no capitals mind you) shares photos on Flickr without attribution and falsely tags them "all rights reserved". File:Pica pica mauretanica1.jpg was reverse laundered here, File:Maghreb (European) Magpie, Morocco.jpg was reverse laundered here.
Granger ? www.granger.com files
DR
COPYTHEFT See below.
Kisspng Anonymous uploads www.kisspng.com files
DR
NONE Has no regard for copyright whatsoever beyond DMCA. Anyone can upload whatever they want and work is rarely attributed. See Commons talk:How Alamy is stealing your images#kisspng.com. Examples: File:MicroV 50.svg (stolen), File:Subglacial Eruption-numbers.svg (stolen), File:Polyhedron great rhombi 12-20 max.png (stolen).
Pixabay Account WikimediaImages files
DR
general reference to Wikimedia in the username Pixabay account "WikimediaImages" did bulk import of 5819 public domain images from Commons. https://pixabay.com/en/pincushion-tomato-needles-sewing-2202284/ is from File:Pincushion-Tomato.jpg, https://pixabay.com/en/vga-cable-plug-computer-technology-2202321/ is File:Vga-cable.jpg. The attribution is poor, but considering the account limits itself to public domain images which don't actually require attribution they're legally in the clear.

Granger.com[edit]

Do not buy.
Granger stole a CoA from Commons

They say "Full credit: Pictures from History / Granger, NYC -- All rights reserved." and "Full Credit: CPA Media - Pictures from History / GRANGER — All rights reserved." on that page. Lies.
