There are more than 4000 uncategorized images, though the number keeps changing. They might lack important source and licensing information. As copyright tags are supposed to categorize images by license, Iwould like to request any capable bots to detect uncategorized images and tag them untagged as appropriate.--Jusjih 14:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

AutoWikiBrowser is capable of this, I will experiment with it. Lcarsdata 08:44, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
I put up a list in my userspace at User:Gmaxwell/nocats recently. This should make it a bit easier than visiting all the pages.. --Gmaxwell 08:47, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
A problem with the AWB method is that the list is cached so most have been fixed already. Lcarsdata 08:48, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
I have used AWB to get all the links on that page you gave us and have set it to go through the list, I will place a marker where I get to. Lcarsdata 09:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
It would appear AWB won't work at the moment. ;( Lcarsdata 09:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Archival

Werdnabot has stopped working. Is there anybody where who can fix the code and also adapt it for the AN and similar pages? -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:03, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm working on it, just need to install a perl module/get an account on the toolserver.  V60 干什么? · VContribs 00:50, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
How is this work progressing? If it isn't, can someone else get the bot to function? Werdnabot did have some bugs, but it was still a great help to us. / Fred Chess 20:37, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
It's great. Just need a bot flag for User:VshArchiveBot and a successful login to the toolserver and we should be good to go.  V60 干什么? · VContribs 21:15, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
So, are you about to add your bot to the request on Commons:Administrators/Requests and votes? When it comes to the toolserver I suggest can ask for it at Commons:Administrators noticeboard, unless you know whom to ask already. / Fred Chess 08:28, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
A toolserver account can be requested at meta:Toolserver/New accounts, however Vishwin60 already has an account. So I guess he'll start his bot soon. --Erwin85 15:56, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I notice that the request was granted April 29. / Fred Chess 23:30, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Is werdnabot working again? Or is there some other bot doing archival jobs now? --ALE! ¿…? 21:16, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
User:MiszaBot is archiving my talk page, seems to work well. (I don't even know how that happened, I thought it took over Werdnabot's old jobs?) pfctdayelise (说什么?) 05:23, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
I have also switched over to MiszaBot. Works very fine. --ALE! ¿…? 07:27, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It appears that Werdnabot stopped archiving at 15:19 on 17 April 2007 (UTC), four months after Werdna stopped contributing at 12:36 on 20 December 2006 (UTC). MiszaBot appears to be working just fine, I suggest that any users of Werdnabot switch to it.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 16:12, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

MiszaBot has commons covered. I have "covertly" switched all Werdnabot's templates with MiszaBot's equivalents quite a while ago (in June). But it seems, some people still try to use the old one: Special:Whatlinkshere/User:Werdnabot/Archiver/Linkhere - I'll fix them, but am currently too busy to go through the many references that point to WB's services and update them, so could someone please do that? Миша13 16:41, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Big red message. -- Bryan (talk to me) 13:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, Миша and Bryan! Миша, may we please have a key for this page? Thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 20:32, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

.ogg files

I have been recategorizing category:video lately into better seacheable portions. But there are actually more video's around here, that are not present yet in one of the subcategories of the category:video. Therefore I would like to ask if it is possible to add "[[category:video]]" to all video files without the word "video" (or videos) in its category listings? Videos exentions here end with ".ogg", but audio/sound files also. Is it possible for a bot to do this? Davin7 18:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm running a query on the toolserver that should identify all video files. The results should be posted soon here. It should then be easy to tag them as Video using something like AWB. -- Bryan (talk to me) 20:59, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
This is all right yet. There shouldn't be posted anything to them, since many of the files are yet in a category called "Category: ... videos". It's all right like it is. Thank you very much! Davin7 15:16, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Adding category for user gallery

Might a bot be able to add all of my images into my user gallery category? This would just be a one-time thing: I've started automatically categorising all of my new uploads. However, I had never thought about it until about 3000 or 3500 photos too late -- so there's approximately that many that I'd like to get into that category. The logic would be along the lines of if the image isn't in this category or its three sub-categories, then add it into the category. If the subcategories pose an issue, don't worry about them: I can fix that manually. Thanks! --Bossi (talkgallerycontrib) 23:32, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Possible but difficult. I will have a detailed loock at it tomorrow. abf /talk to me/ 19:48, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Replacements of some license tags

The next replacements are needed (the main purpose is following creation of state-specific PD-because-old-in-respecite-state, for example {{PD-RU-exempt}} is PD-because-exempt-in-respecite-state, {{PD-Russia}} is PD-because-old-in-respecite-state).

The auto replacements are needed only for inclusions in Images-space - the other inclusions and links will be replaced myself manually.

Alex Spade 09:51, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Only did first two (without realising that the second is a valid redirect); everything except for the first replacement are valid redirects as a result of your page moves. 哦,是吗?(O-person) 05:23, 20 February 2008 (GMT)

Flickr checking bot

Hi, guys. I would create this bot on my own, but I actually don't have a computer at home (I mostly use public computers). There are a good number of images which have a link back to flickr, but don't have a {{Flickrreview}} tag on them. This bot would check for such files. The functionality, I imagine, would look something like this:

  • If the URL immediately after the source= tag looked something like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/*, then the bot would tag it with a flickrreview tag if it didn't already have one.
  • If the page contained some mention of flickr, and it was unsure what the original URL was, then it could list the image on a separate page for human review to see if it actually needs a flickrreview tag. Patstuart 05:34, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Done - I've tagged images where:
There were 82 images. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 22:48, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
I also filtered out those with OTRS permission templates, but didn't post that on the wiki. There were 67 images. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 22:51, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Substing a personalized license template

Hi. {{Creado por Anuskafm}} needs to be substed. If there's a bot owner available, I would appreciate some help (my own bot is currently waiting for my home computer to recover). I have already moved the template to User:Anuskafm/Creado por Anuskafm and left a message to the user, so only the subst' need be done. guillom 18:03, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
